1. City of Waterloo Fee Assistance

The City of Waterloo Fee Assistance Leisure Access Program is a program of financial support for permanent residents with low income living in Waterloo, that helps individuals participate in City of Waterloo recreational and affiliated minor sport and arts programs. The assistance is given in the form of a credit to eligible individuals.

2. Kitchener Sport Association Bursary

The ROW Swim Club is partnering with the Kitchener Sports Association (KSA) to ensure that all children residing in the Kitchener-waterloo area are able to participate in organized swimming. Please contact the ROW office for details.

 

3. There are also asimilar programs available from KidSport Ontario and JumpStart.

 

ROW members who are sponsored by either of these organizations may in addition apply for a training bursary from the club:

 

ROW Training Bursary

The ROW Swim Club offers a training bursary. The application process is open to all members and occurs after registration. This club-sponsored program is in addition to initiatives offered by the city and others and will have an annual maximum grant limit. The funding available for this program is reviewed yearly by the ROW Board of Directors.

Applications can be submitted to the ROW office at [email protected], or may be dropped off in the ROW mailbox at WLU. Please place your submission in a sealed envelope with Training Bursary Application marked on the outside. The applications will be reviewed by an independent committee.

The application period is November 1st to 15th each year, with results communicated by December 1st. Applications will continue to be accepted following the initial period and reviewed if training bursary funds remain available in a swim season. Any bursary awarded will be in the form of a credit to the family account.
