WOSA Regionals (Windsor) - meet update
This past weekend ROW competed at the first of our Championship meets, the Western Regional Championships in Windsor. ROW sent 40 qualifiers from our ND, PD1, Seoul, PD2, LA, Paris and Beijing groups to compete against all clubs in the western region where all our athletes raced their hearts out to achieve an 8th place overall finish at the competition!
The hours at the pool were long but the #ROWNATION pride was flowing from all of our athletes whether they were 10 or 18 years old! Our 13& over swimmers participated in prelims and finals over the three-day meet with a total of 70 finals swims. While our 12& under athletes had timed final events meaning they only got one opportunity to get each of their races right!
We saw ROW swimmers crush personal bests and seasonal goals all weekend long.
A special shout out to our new OYJ & Festival Qualifiers: Cole B, Ayla B, Sebastian H, Natalia M, Vera N, and Beckett S!!
With these new qualifiers we will have 16 swimmers attending OYJ’s in Markham June 15th-18th, and 15 swimmers attending Festivals in Etobicoke June 16ht-18th!
This is the highest number of swimmers we have ever had at these provincial-level meets!
A special thanks to all the parents who endured the long drive to and from Windsor this past weekend!
