Cunningham Classic – Meet Summary

ROW Communications

That’s a wrap on ROW’s 4th hosted meet of the season!

For many, the Cunningham Classic signified a kick-start to LCM spring racing.  Home meets are always a great opportunity for our competitive athletes across all groups to see each other face-to-face, cheer each other on and unite under the ROW banner.  This year’s Cunningham Classic was no different as it proved to be a weekend of many firsts for the ROW athletes!

·      1st LCM Meet for several (1st LCM Meet of the season for many more)
·      1st Time racing distance for many!  - 400free 400im or 800free
·      1st Time qualifying & competing at finals!

Additionally, a few athletes have qualified to compete at the Spring WOSA Championships this June for the 1st time!  Big Congratulations to Kellen V, Nataliya M and Vera N as we’re excited to have you join our growing roster of WOSA athletes.  Good luck in Windsor this June!

Although seemingly common this season, a big Congratulations also needs to go out to Aris Chan of PD1 for breaking the Club Record in the Boys 11-12 50m Breaststroke LCM in a time of 36.54.  This is the 4th Club Record broken this season, 2nd by Aris Chan who broke the SCM 11-12 boys 50 Breaststroke back in February.

Lastly, special thanks to meet management as well as all the officials for the work they put into making the Cunningham Classic run smoothly.  Without your help, none of this is possible.  Thanks to GMAC and CAJ for being in attendance.  Looking forward to building this meet into the future.
