ROW swimmers invited to attend regional and provincial swimming training camps

ROW Communications
With the most normal swim season upon us since early 2020, the competitive swimming governing bodies in Ontario are excited to re-introduce performance based swim camps to its membership. The Western Ontario Swimming Association will be hosting the first, where six athletes from ROW have been selected.  This ties Windsor Aquatic Club with the most representatives selected to attend. The second training camp is hosted by Swim Ontario, labelled the Provincial Youth Selection Camp where ROW will have one representative attending. Congrats to all athletes selected and their coaches!

Selection criteria for the  Western Regional Selection Camp  include most FINA points for 200IM and as well as their highest performing race, with the top 4 female and top 4 male athletes born in each of the respected years from 2008-2011 being chosen for a program that includes swim, dryland and mental skills sessions. The camp will take place later this Fall at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford.

Congratulations to Joseph, Nic, Sunny, Aris, Katherine and Sophie for being selected!

The Provincial Youth Selection Camp for female athletes born in 2008 or younger, and male athletes born in 2007 or younger selects the top 20 females and males based on a certain percentage of  World Class on-track  times in 200 IM as well as their best stroke 200m event. The camp will take place in November at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

Congratulations to Sunny for being selected!

We are very proud of having our swimmers recognized in this way. We hope they make the most of their participation this year and have a great experience!
